We've introduced a new line of Analog Joulemeter probes based on our unique Modular Instrument approach. We've combined state of the art Pyroelectric and Silicon Detectors with high performance SMT electronic circuits and a flexible, shielded housing to create a versatile, multi-range, Laser Joulemeter Probe.
Our probes are battery or AC powered and feature an optical front bezel that allows for use of ND filters, windows or optics. Using a 4-position DIP Switch that is accessed by removing the front bezel, you can select the Rv and RC Time Constant of the Joulemeter probe. You can choose between high Rv or low Rv and short or long RC time constant to easily accommodate any pulse width or energy.
Mate our SXJ-A Joulemeter to your standard oscilloscope and measure from fJ to µJ with our Silicon probes and nJ to mJ with our Pyroelectric probes, and from 1 pulse to >40,000 pps. Our Joulemeter probe include precise calibration against a NIST traceable standard and a Calibration Certificate.
This probe features a 7.8 mm square Pyroelectric Detector with fast Chromium Coating. It's ideal for high rep rate applications with a maximum rep rate limited only by the oscilloscope: >40,000 pps. Select between 400 V/J or 20KV/J depending on the maximum pulse energy you expect to measure. The lower Rv allows for higher energy measurements. You can also choose one of two RC time constants for this Joulemeter probe; 500 µsec or 5 msec. The longer the time constant will help you measure a longer pulse width.
This probe features the same 7.8 mm square Pyroelectric Detector with an Organic Black absorbing coating that makes the spectral response flat (+/- 2%) from 0.1 µm to 18 µm and enhances performance in the FAR IR and Terahertz spectral regions. Switch selectable Rv's are 600 V/J and 30 KV/J. The maximum rep rate is limited to 400 pps due to the thermal time constant of the black absorbing material.
Our Silicon Joulemeter probes are incredibly sensitive in the 0.2 to 1.1 um region, with sub-picojoule resolution. The voltage responsivity is selectable between 20 MV/J and 1 GV/J. Selectable time constants are 500 µsec and 5 msec. We offer two versions of the Silicon Probe; a 5 mm diameter or 10 mm square element. Measure pulse widths in the fsec to 0.5 msec range.
Each Joulemeter Probe is calibrated at a specific wavelength against a NIST traceable spectral standard. The Pyroelectric Probes are calibrated at 1064 nm, with optional calibration wavelengths of 532, 355 and 266 nm. The Silicon probes are calibrated at 1.047 µm and include a spectral correction curve from 0.2 to 1.1 µm.
