Spectrum Detector, Inc. Introduces a unique Broadband THz Radiometer featuring DSP Lock In Amplifier Software

Model T.rad 1000D includes a large area Pyroelectric Detector, Digital Electronics and USB powered operation.

Lake Oswego, Oregon, May 27, 2009 - Spectrum Detector, Inc., a leading manufacturer of THz Sensors and Diagnostic instruments, today introduced the T.rad 1000D, a Broadband Pyroelectric Radiometer for intensity measurements covering the entire THz spectrum (0.1 to 30 THz). The new radiometer consist of a large area, high sensitivity Pyroelectric Detector and electronics, mounted in a Thermal Isolation Enclosure and mated to the USB powered LIA-DPM Digital Lock In Module. Install our executable Lock In Amplifier, LabView Software, plug the Pyroelectric probe into the electronics module and the LIA-DPM into your PC via the USB and you're ready to measure your optically chopped THz source from 100 nW to 20 mW.

"You will really appreciate the simplicity of operation as compared to a standard laboratory Lock In Amplifier" said Don Dooley, President of Spectrum Detector. "The only things you need to set are Range, Filter Tau and Batch Size".

Our Lock In Amp software is very versatile yet simple to use and includes multiple user screens ... Strip Chart, Statistics, Tuning and Setup. The instrument controls are always visible on the left hand side of the display. While displaying measurement data on the computer, you can also choose to Log Data, creating a file with a specified batch size, which will be stored in host computers memory. You can recall these data files and analyze them at anytime.

The T.rad 1000D Radiometer will help the THz Research Scientist make broadband measurements at the lowest power levels ever made with a Pyroelectric instrument. Finally, you'll have an economical option to the more expensive, more fragile Golay Cell.
