Lake Oswego, November 3, 2009 - Spectrum Detector, Inc., a leading manufacturer of standard and custom detectors, electronics and laboratory instruments for measuring optical power and energy, today introduced the Model SHS-6-TE, an advanced optical power meter optimized for applications requiring the utmost in measurement sensitivity, stability and precision. Featuring a temperature-controlled, UV enhanced, 5.8 mm square silicon photodiode, precision resistors and digital temperature control, the Model SHS-6-TE delivers high sensitivity 3 V/nW voltage responsivity that is stable to 0.05% over 20°C. It also features a four decade range and broad spectral response from UV to near IR (0.2 to 1.1 µm). This new instrument is ideal for calibration of photon counting detectors, precise radiant flux measurements of optical sources and ultra-low light measurement applications such as night vision sensing, bio-luminescence studies and chemo-luminescence studies.
